Overview

Wine & Food Sales Development Person required for a renowned branded retailer in Waterford City. This new role will be offered on a 12 month, part-time basis. Reporting to the General Manager, the overall purpose of this role is :     

  • To develop and grow the sales of wines & beers through active engagement with customers.  
  • To research and develop an on trade for wine and a complimentary foodservice offering.
  • To identify new sales opportunities and attract new customers.

Responsibilities of the role:-

  • Meet and engage with customers in assisted selling role.
  • Organise and implement regular wine and beer tastings & promotions.
  • Identify and develop new markets and customers.
  • Research and develop a “wine by the glass” offer.
  • Specify how it is to be implemented, coach and train staff to ensure high standards.  
  • Research, collaborate and develop food service offer for evenings (maybe tapas)
  • Devise specifics of implementation and ensure high standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Working with merchandisers & managers to help devise, plan and implement promotions
  • Produce instore signage and ensure accuracy
  • Generating promotional content for the business’s Social Media accounts and liaise with marketing function to promote marketing activity
  • Create and converting B2B sales opportunities

Role will suit:-

  • Individual with good Restaurant, Hospitality or Foodservice experience
  • Retail or Sales experience essential
  • Knowledge of wine and beer a must.
  • Great communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • An ability to organise and prioritise
  • A positive approach to customer service.
  • A basic understanding of computer systems, proficiency in MS Office
  • Fluent English Speaker

Role will be offered on a 12 month, part-time basis, Thursday to Saturday, afternoon and evenings
