Overview

Finance Administrator required by growing construction and manufacturing company based in Youghal in East Cork. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and based fulltime in the company’s offices, this role will provide operational support from the Finance team in the administration of tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous finance administration experience who is looking to develop their career.  

Key Responsibilities include:

Accounts Receivable

  • Assist in preparing and issuing client valuations and invoices aligned with specific project stages
  • Monitor the debtor ledger and conduct initial, polite follow-ups (emails and calls) for outstanding balances
  • Act as the first point of contact for basic client queries, escalating complex issues where necessary

Plant Hire

  • Track all third-party plant hire to ensure equipment is hired only for the required periods
  • Raise purchase orders for all plant hire requirements
  • Match supplier invoices against purchase orders and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy

Purchase Orders

  • Process purchase orders for office and site-based teams
  • Ensure that purchase orders are compliant with company purchasing policies

Expense Management

  • Ensure all company related purchases are managed in line with the Travel & Expense Policy

General Office Administration

  • Time Management system administration
  • Provide reception and front-of-house support for the office
  • Fleet Management – Manage the company vehicle fleet, ensuring all vehicles are taxed, have valid NCT/DOE certification, are serviced on schedule and that all associated documentation is kept up to date
  • Accommodation booking – co-ordinate weekly accommodation requirements
  • Order office supplies and maintain appropriate stock levels

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  •  2+ years' experience in a finance, office administration, data entry or bookkeeping role
  • Systems: Prior exposure to accounting software—specifically Sage 50—is highly advantageous
  • Technical Skills: Solid foundational knowledge of Excel paired with excellent attention to detail
  • Education: Progression toward or completion of an Accounting Technician qualification (e.g., ATI/IATI) or a certificate/diploma in Business/Finance is highly desirable
  • Communication: A friendly, professional phone manner and strong email etiquette
  • Attitude: A proactive attitude with a genuine desire to learn the ins and outs of the finance function
  • Be highly organised
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Be able to prioritise multiple tasks
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • Be confident communicating with clients and suppliers
  • Be comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
