Overview
Project / Site Surveyor
Our clients a long-established Irish energy retrofitting contractor with offices based in Dublin and the South East are seeking a Project/Site Supervisor to join their team. This role is responsible for carrying out site measure surveys on BEWHS properties, providing accurate as-built records, scoping variations where properties deviate from original specification and ensuring correct information is passed onto crews.
Key Responsibilities
Site measure & survey
- Carry out pre-works surveys on BEWHS properties (Shallow, Deep and Deep Heat allocations).
- Measure external and internal dimensions accurately, record substrate conditions, note access constraints and identify any pre-existing defects.
- Confirm specified measures (Attic, Cavity Wall, Wall Vents, Roof Vents, DCV) are feasible on the property and flag where they are not.
- Record findings on WIMS the same day the survey is carried out; upload photos, measurements and site notes as evidence.
Variations & scope control
- Identify variations between the SEAI allocation and site reality (missing measures, additional measures, condition-driven changes).
- Produce a clear written variation scope with supporting evidence; submit through the agreed variation process.
- Liaise with the Project Manager on priority and sequencing of variations.
Bill of Quantities & materials
- Produce accurate BoQs from site measure data to support crew mobilisation and procurement.
- Confirm materials type and quantities with the Project Manager before works commence.
- Flag any survey-to-install variances to the PM so they are investigated before costs escalate.
As-built & post-works
- Where required, revisit sites to capture as-built records and confirm installed quantities match the signed-off scope.
- Support SEAI technical inspections by providing survey data, drawings and site notes.
Homeowner-facing conduct
- Explain the survey process in plain terms; set honest expectations about what will and won't be done.
- Log every homeowner interaction of substance in the Homeowner Comm Log (HCL) on WIMS.
Health & safety
- Hold valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certifications at all times.
- Complete the daily vehicle check on Fleet Hub.
- Record any near-miss, hazard or incident on the H&S app the same day.
Ideal Candidate
- A construction, civil engineering, building services, quantity surveying or related Level 7+ qualification (NFQ) — or equivalent trade qualification with substantive site experience.
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in site surveying, construction supervision, retrofit works or a comparable field role.
- Registered BER Assessor (Domestic). Candidates without BER will be considered; the successful candidate may be supported to obtain BER registration post-hire if the fit is strong.
- Proven ability to take accurate site measurements, produce BoQs and interpret construction drawings. Familiarity with insulation measures (external wall, cavity, attic), ventilation and basic building fabric principles.
- Competent with MS Office / Google Workspace, mobile data-capture tools and job-management systems. Able to work on tablets / phones on site.
- Full, clean Irish or EU driving licence; willingness to travel across the corridor from Kildare to Waterford on a daily basis.
- Comfortable working with all homeowners. A patient, courteous and clear communicator.
