Overview
Electrical Technician
Our client, a medium-sized manufacturing facility operating with the latest computer-controlled process technology are seeking a skilled and motivated Process Engineering Technician (Electrical) to join their operations team. This position operates on a 4-cycle shift rotation and plays a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our manufacturing processes and plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the optimal and efficient operation of process and plant equipment through the use of process control systems.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance activities, completing all associated documentation and records.
- Administer and maintain computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and process records.
- Conduct laboratory testing of products throughout the manufacturing process.
- Operate in accordance with the Integrated Management System and comply with the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
- Monitor, operate, and control the continuous manufacturing process to achieve production targets and maintain plant performance.
- Provide electrical and mechanical support during shift operations, along with logistical support as required.
- Support multiple operational functions including production, maintenance, reliability, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives on a rotational or as-needed basis.
- Perform electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis, maintenance, and repair on both production and facility equipment.
- Contribute to the maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of plant systems to maximise production capacity.
Equipment and Systems
The successful candidate will be involved in the maintenance and repair of a wide range of plant and facility equipment, including:
- Compressors
- Pumps
- Boilers
- Water treatment systems
- Instrumentation systems
- Distillation equipment
- Chemical processing plant equipment
- General process engineering systems
Qualifications and Ideal Experience
- Qualified Electrician with mechanical experience and knowledge of instrumentation and process systems.
- Minimum QQI/FETAC Level 6 qualification.
- Experience working within a process manufacturing and/or maintenance environment.
- Experience with SCADA systems, pumps, and general process engineering systems.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative within a process-driven environment.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Desirable Experience
- Experience handling, maintaining, or working on chemical process equipment and storage systems.
- Experience working in ATEX environments or with ATEX installations.
- CompEx certification would be an advantage.
