Overview

Engineering Projects Manager (Capital/CI Projects Manager) required by leading FMCG company based in South Tipperary. Reporting to the Managing Director, The overall purpose of this role is   As the Capital Projects/CI Manager you will need to

  • Ensure that key projects are delivered in line with agreed critical paths and deadlines.
  • You will work horizontally across Operations, and other Department lines, liaising with key stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • You will execute via efficient management of the Supplier and Contractor base and all internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Project Manage all new Installations on the sites to include Capital Projects and CI Projects
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the Company in everything we do
  • Develop a CI Capital Installation implementation plan on a yearly basis
  • Engage with key stakeholders (Quality, Technical, H&S, Maintenance & Operations) to understand their requirements
  • Analyse business processes and identify project opportunities, and implement key improvements whilst engaging Key Stakeholders
  • Complete process reviews to identify bottlenecks and constraints, identify and implement ways to eliminate
  • Lead and execute process improvement projects e.g. OEE, lead time reduction, waste elimination, following standard project structure and maintaining alignment to site goals
  • Ensure all improvement activities are aligned and completed with a compliance Focus
  • Benchmark industry best practice and make recommendations for improvement
  • Use appropriate lean problem-solving tools to address the root cause of problems engaging relevant staff
  • Take positive action to maintain compliance to the Food Quality and Safety system and to drive continuous improvements in food safety culture

Role will suit

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience with strong Engineering/Production background.
  • Has proven track record in Manufacturing industry.
  • Strong Management Systems capabilities.
  • Strong Project Management Skills demonstrated.
  • High energy. Assertive, energetic, and a self-starter
  • Excellent Communication with a focus on direct phone communication vis a vis emails
  • Ability to work under pressure and to agreed deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of the Management team
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential
  • Demonstrates a logical approach to problem solving
  • Has a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Creative and change-oriented Continuous Improvement process skills
