Excellent Senior Product Development Technologist role for an experienced NPD individual in a fast growing FMCG Company. Working as part of the NPD Team and some of the largest UK & Irish retailers the overall purpose of this role: is:-
The role of the Senior Product development technologist is to help deliver the product development strategy of the business while taking products through the development process from initiation to launch.
Role & Responsibilities:
  • Work together with key customers and internal stakeholders to deliver new and existing product development strategy, which meet the company’s business growth objectives.
  • Project manage the development of products from concept to launch using retailers stage gate process.
  • Research consumer trends and develop recipes in line with project briefs and blue-sky opportunities.
  • Deliver product sample presentations to customers.
  • Complete benchwork and recipe costings.
  • Source new ingredients as required, based on criteria set with customer and the business.
  • Co-ordinate production trials and manage first production launches on behalf of the customer.
  • Make samples for internal and external presentations, nutritional analysis, and reference samples for trial/ launch.
  • Sign off artwork for packaging of new lines ensuring adherence to all relevant labelling legislation.
  • Compile and maintain documents relating to the new product development process.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Quality, Procurement and Production teams.
The ideal candidate will have:-
  • level 8 Honour’s degree in Food Science or related subject.
  • 5+ years’ experience in new product development within Food Manufacturing. Experience within the Beverage industry is an advantage.
  • A proven track record taking projects from start to finish.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of product costings.

  • Pays close attention to detail with excellent organisational skills and proven ability to handle multiple tasks/ priorities.
