Financial Controller
Our client a medium sized Agri and Food business are currently recruiting an Experienced Financial Controller to their Management Team. Reporting to the CEO, the overall purpose of this role is the Management of all financial and taxation affairs of the company and to ensure good strategy and commercial decisions are made based on reliable financial data to grow the company into the future

Responsibilities will include:-
  • You will have overall responsibility for preparation and completion of the Annual Audit of the Group’s statutory financial statements and adherence to all finance-related statutory requirements for the group companies.
  • Responsible for ensuring taxation compliance for the Group. This also involves the preparation of draft statutory tax pack for the year end audit and the filing of tax returns.
  • You will support the Co-op’s Secretary by completing and submitting Annual Returns etc. and the maintenance of the Co-op’s share register.
  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly sales performance reports and periodic divisional management accounts to assist in the ongoing management and control of the performance of the Group’s core activities.
  • You will be responsible for the management of the Group’s cashflows, treasury, FX deals, debtors management.
  • Overall management of the Group’s Payroll, and Pension Schemes.
  • Maintain and develop key relationships with Banks, Auditors, Insurers, Revenue, Enterprise Ireland and other relevant 3rd party institutions.
  • Be part of the Senior Management Team and contribute to the development of the Group’s business’s by providing timely and key information to support the decision-making process.
  • Overseeing the ongoing development of the Group’s financial IT Systems and supervising and monitoring of internal controls.
  • Managing, motivating and developing a strong team in the finance function and assisting on the management of employees across the organization, to create a strong team to support and grow the business into the future

The ideal candidate will:-
  • Qualified Accountant, ACA or ACCA
  • Min of 10+ years experience PQE, in broad industry based role, a min of 5 years at Financial Controller level required
  • Strong people management experience
  • Trained through Audit practice originally
  • Experience of commercial and operational challenges
  • A high degree of computer literacy, ERP experience and a good knowledge of standard Microsoft applications
