Manufacturing Team Leader who will report to the Production Manager is required for a fast growing FMCG company based in Co Kilkenny.

Purpose of the job:
  • Lead the Shift Team to achieve production SQPDC targets/KPIs on a daily basis and optimise overall performance in terms of output, quality, costs, etc.
  • Set weekly targets and objectives for the Shift Team
  • Ensure the highest standards of product quality, integrity and hygiene are achieved and improved daily in line with quality and food safety standards
  • Maintain excellent standards of Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Housekeeping Practice
  • Monitor and control costs within an agreed budget
  • Ensure the safe working practices and conduct of the team, contractors and visitors
  • Ensure that team are properly trained and managed to work in a safe, quality conscious and effective way
  • Execute meaningful Performance Development Reviews of teams including quarterly 1:1 meetings with team members.
  • Maintain positive working relationships and ensure effective communication at all levels
  • Ensure all work areas and equipment within your control are regularly and properly maintained to deliver optimum performance through asset care.
  • Capture and drive initiatives to maximise employee contribution and drive improvements in product quality and process/system efficiencies through Work In Progress boards.
  • Ensure all TMS holidays, absence and other data is managed daily and to standard.
  • Interface with HR in relation to employee performance/development and any employee relations issues.
  • Implement and create standard work and single point lessons.
  • Drive correct usage, maintenance and development of all production systems.
  • Create skills matrix for all team members on the lines.
  • Process confirmation to be completed daily
  • Deliver 99.5% customer service, optimum yields and 100% quality.
  • Conduct daily and weekly communication with the team members.
  • Drive performance through the Short Interval Control boards.
  • Deliver environmental standards to drive SQPDC metrics.
  • Maintain accreditation standards Good Manufacturing Practice and close out of any Non Compliance Reports.
Experience, Knowledge, Competencies and Skills required:
  • Relevant leadership experience in a Fast Moving Consumer Goods environment.
  • Clear and strong communication skills.
  • Positive interpersonal skills and good organisation skills.
  • Flexibility to work on the pm and am shifts.
  • Conversant in the English language both written and verbal.
  • Able to reach the required numerate, verbal and reasoning skills.
