EHS Manager
Our client a fast growing FMCH company based in South Tipperary are currently recruiting for a new position of Environmental Health & Safety Manager.
In close cooperation with the plant leadership, the EHS Manager is responsible for developing an industry leading culture for Health, Safety and Environment, based on strategic objectives and requirements. Supporting the business in achieving its objectives to ensure stability and growth
RESPONSIBILITES

Develop an industry leading culture of EHS compliance throughout the plant

Planning and implementation of EHS systems across the site.

Establish a series of effective EHS KPIs for the site.

Update and maintain EHS policies procedures and the Site Safety Statement in compliance with Regulatory requirements.

Provide advice to the company regarding new legislation / regulations.

Ensure adequate monitoring of all significant safety risks throughout the plant.

Keep management informed of all significant regulatory requirements, notable safety weaknesses, and all key safety indicators.

Ensure effective EHS training of all employees by facilitating training of Management, Supervisors, Team Leads, Trainers and Line personnel.

Monitor EHS performance throughout the plant through regular audits in conjunction with the Production Supervisors and other relevant Managers in order to inspect and check plant, processes, procedures & practices. Ensure speedy corrective action in the case of non-conformance.

Represent the Company during outside Agency Audits/Inspections and liaise as required with the Health & Safety Authority.

Develop and implement site EHS goals and action plans

Supply the Senior Managers within the Company with EHS statistics and safety KPI performance.
- Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent recognised qualification in Environment, Health & Safety

5+ years' experience in a similar position, within an FMCG manufacturing environment, ideally food manufacturing.

Proven success and experience of implementing safety systems & programmes

Strong inter-personal skills: excellent communication skills, strong relationship builder, good influencing and negotiation skills and ability to coach

Ability to manage risk and implement control measures.
